To register with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Pakistan for taxation purposes, you can follow these steps:
Obtain a National Tax Number (NTN):
- If you don't have an NTN, you need to obtain one. Visit the FBR's online portal and register for an NTN by providing the required personal and business information.
Select Taxpayer Type:
- Determine the appropriate taxpayer type based on your business structure. The options include individual, association of persons (AOP), company, or any other relevant category.
Online Registration:
- Access the FBR's online portal (e.g., Iris or eFBR) and initiate the registration process. Fill out the registration form with accurate details, including your NTN, personal information, business details, and tax obligations.
Attach Supporting Documents:
- Scan and upload the required supporting documents, such as copies of your National Identity Card (NIC), NTN certificate, bank account details, and other relevant documents as specified by the FBR.
Verification and Approval:
- The FBR will review your registration application and supporting documents. Once verified, you will receive a confirmation of your registration, typically in the form of a registration certificate or taxpayer card.
Activation of Online Profile:
- Activate your online profile on the FBR's online portal by following the provided instructions. This will enable you to access online services, file tax returns, and fulfill your tax-related obligations.
Tax Filing and Compliance:
- After registration, fulfill your tax filing obligations by submitting regular tax returns and any applicable statements or documents as required by the FBR. Ensure timely payment of taxes and compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
